Borderlands 3 fans have found some unique ways to express their appreciation for the series as of late. One fan’s Borderlands 3 creation is particularly interesting, too, as it sees one of the most popular Vault Hunter’s embroidered onto some cloth.
This post joins the recent Borderlands 3 nail art as a major change from the usual cosplay, drawings, and paintings that are used to show love for the franchise. With the nail art, a fan included characters like Claptrap and psychos on each nail, with a Vault symbol featuring on one of their nails as well. However, the new Borderlands embroidery project does not focus on multiple subjects - at least not yet, anyway. For now, it focuses closely on the beloved assassin Zer0.

The Borderlands community has been showing an incredible amount of love for Zer0 as of late, with everything from drawings to a replica of Zer0’s sword appearing online. This post is particularly special, though, as embroidery is not something one would expect to see used for a piece of Borderlands art. However, MaddRae proves that it is a perfect match, as the Haiku-loving killer looks terrific with hand under his chin and one of his arms crossed.
Unsurprisingly, the response to this fan’s creation has been incredible, with many loving how Zer0 looks in this art piece. While he is not colored in, this allows all the detail on his armor to be seen, whether that be the dent on his cheat plate or the lines on his other protective gear. Said line placement does a great job of making Zer0 look like he stepped straight out of the game, as he manages fo keep the cel shaded art style that has made the series so recognizable. However, the best part of MaddRae’s work is visible above Zer0’s helmet.
Zer0’s holographic face plate allows him to display his emotions in red text, allowing him to make it clear how he is feeling without players ever seeing his face. The smiley face is the most used, while an open mouth variant of that smile can also be seen. The number zero is also possible, as is a heart, exclamation point, and some acronyms. For this piece, MaddRae chose the slanted face, with Zer0 looking disinterested in whatever is happening around him. With the red emote being raised above the actual hand-embroidered version of Zer0, it stands out clearly from the rest of the image.
For the fans in the comments who love MaddRae's work, they should be happy to know that another piece is on the way. Next time, the fan will focus on FL4K, which seems fitting considering their potential connection to Zer0.
Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
