Bob Odenkirk returned to the set of Better Call Saul and shared a new image as he prepared to get back to work on the Breaking Bad prequel.

This summer, Bob Odenkirk suffered a heart attack and was forced to suspend his work on AMC's Better Call Saul in order to recover. Now, the beloved actor confirmed he has returned to the set to continue filming the sixth and final season of the Breaking Bad prequel.

In late July, Odenkirk collapsed on set while filming Better Call Saul and was rushed to a hospital nearby hospital. Odenkirk later confirmed that he suffered a heart attack and while he had been treated without surgery, he would be taking the necessary amount of time to recover, which resulted in the production team adjusting the shooting schedule of Better Call Saul's final season.

During his recovery period, the cast and crew shot scenes that didn't involve Odenkirk's Saul Goodman while the lead star waited to be given the go-ahead to resume his work. Now, Odenkirk has announced his return to the set of Better Call Saul in a Twitter post declaring how grateful he is to be "surrounded by such good people." The photo accompanying the post shows Odenkirk sitting in a chair as makeup artist Cheri Montesanto readies him the cameras. In a moment of self-deprecating humor, Odenkirk thanks Montesanto for making him "not ugly" while shooting Better Call Saul.

While Odenkirk has always had a devoted fanbase (especially among those familiar with his work as a writer on Saturday Night Live during the late '80s to early '90s and as David Cross' cohort on HBO's sketch comedy series Mr. Show) he's arguably a gained following with newer audiences thanks to roles in a series of recent high-profile projects. In the past four years alone he's had lead or important roles in Steven Spielberg's The Post, Pixar's The Incredibles 2, Jonathan Levine's Long Shot, Greta Gerwig's Little Women, and the John Wick-style action flick Nobody. That's not to mention his popular role as the smooth-talking criminal lawyer Jimmy "Saul Goodman" McGill in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Still, it seems even Odenkirk was overwhelmed by the messages of love and well-wishes that poured in after news of his heart attack broke. Roughly a week after his heart attack, Odenkirk posted a message on Twitter expressing how grateful he was for the kind words, adding that being told he makes the world a better place by so many made him feel as if he was having his own It's a Wonderful Life moment.

With the worst seemingly behind, fans are now excited to see Odenkirk conclude the story of Saul Goodman and witness how Better Call Saul wraps up its acclaimed story. Of course, once the series concludes, fans will undoubtedly be tuning in to whatever future projects Odenkirk has in store for many years to come.

Better Call Saul season 6 is expected to premiere in 2022 on AMC.
