Although it's been known for some time that Square Enix would be at Tokyo Game Show Online 2021, just what it would be showing has been a mystery. With a plethora of updates, though, Square Enix's plans have been revealed, detailing an exciting show for its fans.
Tokyo Game Show is the premier Japanese game conference and has been running since 1996. The yearly event is held at Makuhari Messe, with this year's show being a blend of in-person and digital presentations. Recently, the Tokyo Game Show 2021 schedule was released, listing the many developers who will be attending and when fans can tune in to watch them. Square Enix provided a brief description of its event, noting it would be covering previously announced games as well as some new ones, but nothing overly specific was mentioned.

Square Enix updated its website to include extensive information about its presence at Tokyo Game Show Online 2021. Starting with the games that will be shown, there are many confirmed titles that fans have seen before:
- Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
- Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
- Forspoken
- Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier
- Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY
- Collection OF SaGa Final Fantasy Legend
- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
- War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
Final Fantasy fans have a lot to look forward it seems, with updates on Stranger of Paradise, the interesting hack n' slash Final Fantasy prequel, and The First Soldier, the peculiar Final Fantasy 7 battle royale. After the incredible Forspoken trailer at PlayStation Showcase 2021, which debuted more of the game's world and combat, it will be exciting to see more of it in action.
On to Square Enix's schedule, where the company will be streaming content throughout the entirety of TGS Online 2021. On Friday, October 1, fans can tune in to watch its opening "Square Enix Presents" show, then a "Lounge Jam" that focuses on Square Enix's music, and finally a presentation on Forspoken. Following the new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer setting up its Church of Truth conflict, the game will open Square Enix Presents Day 2 on Saturday, October 2, with Stranger of Paradise appearing later in the day. To close out TGS Online 2021, on Sunday, October 3, Square Enix will end its conference with a special livestream dedicated to The First Soldier.
Square Enix seems to be going all-in at this year's TGS 2021 with everything it has confirmed. What's more, there are still announcements to be made and more games to come. It would be incredible to see Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 or Final Fantasy 16, considering its last appearance was back at the original PS5 unveiling, but it is probably best not to get one's hopes up. One thing that should be hoped for is that more companies take after Square Enix and share its TGS plans.
