The First of the Furies, Megaera, initially appears in Hades as a boss in Tartarus, however, she can become an ally and much more...

Quick Links

When those battling their way through Hades initially encounter the First of the Furies, Megaera will be a powerful adversary. Players can face off against her in Tartarus, and, if she is defeated, Zagreus will be able to invite her to stay at the House of Hades.

In addition to being able to befriend Megaera, players can also develop their relationship further and become romantically entwined with the Fury. This, however, will take some specific steps that those playing Hades thankfully won't have too much trouble following if they can obtain enough Nectar and Ambrosia.

Step 1 - Give Megaera Nectar

Giving Nectar & Getting The Skull Earring

To begin growing closer to the Fury, players will need to give her Nectar, which can be found around the Underworld by various methods. The first time that the player gives Megaera some Nectar, she will gift Zagreus with the Skull Earring, which increases the amount of damage the player can unleash when below 35% HP.

Overall, players can give Megaera 6 Nectar total before she will not accept any more. At this point, players will have to do a Favor for the Fury before being able to get any closer to her, however, this "favor" is less of a task and more of a dialogue interaction.

Megaera's Favor

RNG will decide just how fast players can progress to the next stage of their relationship, as it will take a random number of encounters with all of the Furies to trigger Megaera's Favor dialogue. When this happens, she will appear in Zagreus' room and will tell him how she only is working against him because it is her duty. Afterward, however, players can begin leveling up their relationship once more.

Step 2 - Give Megaera Ambrosia

Giving Ambrosia & Getting Companion Battie

Once her Favor is complete, Megaera will begin accepting Ambrosia from the player. Like Nectar, Ambrosia can be found all over the Underworld by various means. The first time that the player gives Megaera some Ambrosia, she will, in return, give Zagreus the Companion Battie: an item that will summon the Fury while in a battle to unleash a powerful attack.

Successfully Romancing Megaera

The maximum Affinity that the player can gain with Megaera is 10, which will occur after players have given her 6 Nectar, completed her Favor, and have given her 4 Ambrosia. When max Affinity is reached, players will be able to talk to Megaera to make a decision between staying friends with her or officially becoming a couple.
