The latest party game for Nintendo's Switch, WarioWare: Get It Together! has released for fans to duke it out in several different mini-games, or as the game puts it, microgames. This entry takes advantage of the series' cast of characters, and plays to its strengths. This is demonstrated fairly well in the demo for WarioWare: Get It Together! by having the player control different characters that have their own abilities that can be utilized in completing the microgames. Whenever the player isn't competing against their friends in a frenzied and silly contest, they can engage in the charming single-player campaign as any of the characters in the game. One particular character, however, has been theorized to have connections to some important characters in its parent franchise, Mario.
The character at the centerpiece of this theory is Mona, one of the recurring fan-favorites of the WarioWare series. She's a talented and fashionable high-schooler who takes on several different jobs, from pizza delivery girl, to cheerleader, and even a dancer. She's also a microgame developer at Wario's video game company, as she has an implied crush on him (to much confusion). While she's solidly a WarioWare character, a fan pointed out a small detail in the newest entry that suggests her parents are actually some iconic Mario characters.

A tweet showed a photograph of Mona's parents that can be seen in the story mode of the game. The picture contains a younger Mona, along with her parents, where her father is dressed in green, while her mother is dressed in orange. These two color schemes are associated with longtime Nintendo pairing of Luigi and Daisy. Since Mona is vaguley a high-schooler's age, this theory implies that she is actually the future daughter of the two.
Some physical traits do make Mona similar to both Daisy and Luigi, but there are some factors from her backstory that supposedly can be linked to them. Her house can be seen in a cutscene of WarioWare: Get It Together! which bears a resemblance to the one seen in one of the endings of Luigi's Mansion. The fact that Mona happens to own a Pizzeria hasn't gone unnoticed, seemingly giving her another tie to Luigi. Other factors involve her father being an artist, which can be backed up one of Luigi's costumes in Mario Kart Tour, while Daisy is actually her supermodel mom.
Now, there are many fans who don't believe this was intentional. It's more likely a reference or string of coincidences that led to this theory, considering the shaky nature of the evidence. It's possible the theory is more of a joke that's not meant to be taken at face value, either. However, it's a fun series of details that makes the Mario universe a lot more interesting to think about that ties it to the Wario series.
