Moms usually support their children in whatever it is they're passionate about, especially if they display a relatively high level of skill in it. This rings true when it comes to gaming, with many rising esports stars either legally children or in early adulthood. However, as many gamers may know, this encouragement can end up feeling like a distraction more than anything, as is the case with one pro Call of Duty: Warzone player.
Activision and Raven Software's Call of Duty: Warzone is currently in the latter part of its Season Five. The mid-season update introduces several new pieces of content to the game, including the 50 v 50 Clash mode, Iron Trials '84, and more. In keeping with its '80s action hero theme, Warzone recently launched its Judge Dredd bundle, giving players a chance at being their own judge, jury, and executioner.

The pro Call of Duty: Warzone competitor in question is Lenun, a prominent player from Europe. Lenun has been competing in the World Series of Warzone EU Solos match, pitted against 150 of Europe's top players. Stakes for the match were high, with it being a winner-takes-all prize of $100 thousand. As any serious player would, Lenun was laser-focused camping across from the top of a ladder. Lenun's mom was apparently watching the World Series Solos match from another room, and decided her son could use a pep talk, coming abruptly into his room with encouraging words of "Trust your gut Len!"

As can be seen in the short clip, Lenun quickly reacts with some expletive-laden confusion, informing his already-aware mother that he's in a Solos match and telling her to close the door. Luckily, the Warzone pro luckily didn't suffer any consequences from the momentary distraction. Lenun later clarified that his mom understands the pressure of winning Call of Duty: Warzone tournaments and would "never be disrespectful like that" to her. The relatable clip has gone viral over the past 24 hours, garnering nearly half a million views at the time of writing, including a re-tweet from Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software itself.
Moms of gamers seem to be making quite a few headlines as of late. In addition to the wholesome interaction between Lenun and his mom, another mother is being commended for her accurate cosplay of a Final Fantasy 7 Remake NPC. A fan sent his mom a picture of Mireille Dudley, grandmother to fan-favorite character Kyrie Canaan, because he thought they looked nearly identical. The fan's mom agreed, so much so that she ended up doing her first ever cosplay. While the Final Fantasy 7 outfit may not be as prolific a moment as the Warzone pep talk, its endearing to see moms share in their children's passions.
Despite its numerous bugs and cheaters, Call of Duty: Warzone boast a strong player base, and is poised to be a cornerstone shooter for years to come. That strong player base will likely get even stronger when the Pacific map comes later this year, potentially ushering in a new wave of players, and hopefully moms to support them.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
