Fans who have been waiting for the continuing story of Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti's You characters are in luck. The hit Netflix series has an official trailer to excite fans for its third season, proving that old habits die hard.
After the shocking revelation of You's second season, Joe Goldberg (Badgley) appears to have met his match in Love Quinn (Pedretti). Now, the Netflix series will challenge Joe as he acquaints himself with his newest quest: fatherhood.

Picking up where You's second season left off, Joe and Love are now settled into their suburban home, and as much as they think they are free of their past impulses, they couldn't be more wrong. Despite having found his arguably perfect match, Joe finds himself obsessing over his next-door neighbor and can't shake the fact that she might be the woman for him. The new trailer shows Love and Joe enduring marital problems spurred by Joe's inability to give up his fascination with stalking and preying on women, seeming to no longer adore Love in the way he did in season two. Upset and feeling cheated by Joe, the trailer suggests Love will begin to take out her own form of revenge, likely causing far more problems than it will solve. Unfortunately, it seems not even the couple's newborn son will be able to stop the new parents from returning to old habits.
In the Netflix trailer, Love suggests couple's therapy, which Joe and Love seem to be far beyond. For the two of them, nothing seems to bond them quite like burying a body in the woods a few feet from where their baby sits in the carrier. As any season of You would be incomplete without a sighting of the infamous glass box, the trailer gives quite a few, suggesting Love and Joe will have more than a few bodies that they'll have to take care of.
The trailer includes highlights a few new faces joining the Netflix series including Tati Gabrielle, Michaela McManus, Scott Speedman, Travis Van Winkle, Shannon Chan-Kent, and a few others. Among the additional cast members are David Arnold, Christopher O'Shea, Christoper Sean, Bryan Safi, Mackenzie Astin, Ayelet Zurer, Jack Fisher, Mauricio Lara, and Scott Michael Foster. Saffron Burrows will also return to play Love's mother, Dottie, and there was a short glimpse of her in the Netflix trailer.
With the shots of bloodied wedding rings and likely murder weapons, the third season of You is going to be something the show hasn't quite done before. While neither Joe nor Love are unaccustomed to murder, they haven't done so in a place quite like this. The suburban setting full of influencers and wealthy families might result in Joe and Love's past finally catching up with them. After the death of her brother and the murders she committed because of her own obsession with Joe, Love will likely continue to kill anyone who gets in her way. Now that Joe seems to be far from done with his stalker past, the fates that Peach and Beck suffered are likely to happen all over again.
Season three of You will premiere on Netflix on October 15, 2021.
