A reliable Call of Duty leaker claims that the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard will be remastering fan favorite maps for its multiplayer.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to launch on November 5 with 20 maps spread out across its traditional multiplayer, Champion Hill, and 2v2 Gunfight game modes. But like Call of Duty has done for over a decade now, fans can expect the Call of Duty: Vanguard map selection to grow over time, with Activision and Sledgehammer Games producing new maps for Vanguard as part of its post-launch support.

Official details on new Call of Duty: Vanguard maps beyond launch have not been confirmed by official sources, but reliable leaker Tom Henderson has claimed that two maps in particular are in development for Vanguard. Henderson doesn't clarify when these maps will be available, so it's possible that they will be added as part of Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 or maybe they'll be a surprise addition to the launch lineup. Regardless, assuming Henderson's information is correct, fans of older Call of Duty games should be pleased.

According to Henderson, classic Call of Duty 4 map Shipment and popular World at War map Sub Pens are being remastered for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Details beyond that claim are unavailable at the time of this writing, but when one considers the sheer popularity of Shipment, it's definitely no surprise to learn that map is likely getting added to Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Shipment is one of Call of Duty's smallest maps, allowing for near-instant engagement with enemy players. Its small size has ensured that there have been plenty of Call of Duty Shipment complaints over the years, particularly when it comes to the map's spawns, but others have praised it for its pure fun factor. After Shipment was added to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game, fans would often complain whenever Infinity Ward cycled out its 24/7 option with something else, as it proved to be a great way to farm kills.

Sub Pens, meanwhile, is one of the more popular Call of Duty: World at War maps, but it's not the only World at War map making its way to Vanguard. Sledgehammer Games has outright confirmed two other Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer maps for Vanguard in the form of Castle and Dome, both of which should be available in the new game when it launches on November 5.

The full Call of Duty: Vanguard experience won't be available until November 5 rolls around, but fans don't have to wait that long to try the game out for themselves. The Call of Duty: Vanguard open beta is rolling out across all platforms, giving CoD fans the chance to try the game a couple of months in advance.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
