Call of Duty: Vanguard is now in its second beta weekend, with PC and Xbox players finally having the chance to see Sledgehammer’s latest take on World War 2. Unfortunately, it seems like some cheaters are already managing to use their hacks in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
This is particularly frustrating, as players already have regular beta issues to worry about as is. Spawns in Patrol are still troublesome, audio and visibility are still flawed, and there are new problems with the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta on Xbox. While issues are to be expected in a beta, and finding them early will make for a smoother launch experience, players should not need to deal with any more than the expected problems. Unfortunately, hackers are making the beta experience worse for those unlucky enough to be matched up with them.

Reddit user ukjoel333 pointed out their own experience with a cheater. Playing on the Call of Duty: Vanguard map Eagle’s Nest, which was added during the second beta weekend, the final killcam shows the cheater in action. While they are using the StG 44, an Assault Rifle that is strong in any hands with the right attachments, their aim is completely unnatural. In the killcam, they can be seen snapping to targets, rapidly aiming down sights to lock onto people they do not even see.
Despite not actually hitting anything, as the player shoots off into the distance, hit markers can be seen on their screen. Some of these hit markers change to red, confirming that an enemy has been killed. Plenty of harsh language is thrown the hacker’s way, with the entire Call of Duty lobby shaming the player for their actions. Unfortunately, these criticisms are unlikely to stop a cheater like this, and all players can do is report them.
Given that the player does not even need to see the people they are killing, this frustrating cheat is even worse than the basic aimbots and wallhacks that are usually seen in Call of Duty. While many are shocked to see that Call of Duty: Vanguard already has a hacking problem that is this severe, it makes sense considering that the game was built on the same engine as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone. Because of this, players like marpasa believe the same hacks from those games likely work just as well on Call of Duty: Vanguard.
While Call of Duty: Warzone bans will carry over to Call of Duty: Vanguard, hopefully the opposite is true. Sadly, it seems like Call of Duty: Vanguard could have some of the same issues that Call of Duty: Warzone has been dealing with.
Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
