Overwatch is full of unique heroes, with each member of the roster excelling in different areas. One of the most iconic characters in the game is Mercy, and while she may not be as viable in high-level play as some of the other support heroes, one Overwatch fan has shown that she can still be dangerous in the right hands.

Similar to Soldier 76’s role for damage players, Mercy is often viewed as an entry point for players that are interested in filling a support role. Her moveset is simple but effective, and she can do consistent healing to single targets. Some Mercy players can even deal some damage with her pistol, though in the case of one player, that was not an option. With their entire team dead, and Reddit user tutubell22 completely outnumbered, they had to get creative to stay alive.

Stalling in Overwatch is important, as it serves as the last hope for a team to secure a win. With overtime bringing a longer spawn delay, though, players need to stall for a long time in order for their team to return. While some heroes excel at this, like Wrecking Ball and Lucio, Mercy is normally just average when it comes to stalling. However, tutubell22’s movement is incredible, with the Reddit user showing just how useful a good Mercy player can be.

The Mercy fan uses their dead teammates to their advantage, dashing between the yellow lights with the hero’s Guardian Angel ability. They dodge everything from the enemy Reinhardt’s hammer swings to Junkrat’s grenades, hopping between a Junkertown staircase and the payload. Admittedly, the scene is hilarious, as the entirety of the enemy team is struggling to deal with a lone Mercy player. After surviving for a surprisingly long amount of time, the Mercy player pulls off a risky resurrection on a friendly Reaper. Shockingly, they are not eliminated while doing this, and their teammate is brought back into the fight.

After being resurrected, Mercy damage boosts the Reaper player, with the damage hero activating Death Blossom instantly. Shockingly, this wipes out everyone besides the enemy Reinhardt. With the Mercy player having stalled for so long, the rest of their team returns, and together they finish off the Reinhardt to secure the win. Unsurprisingly, the Overwatch community was blown away by the Mercy’s movement and stalling. As such, the post has brought in over 10,000 upvotes and hundreds of positive comments.

While there have been plenty of great Overwatch plays shown over the years, Mercy fans should be particularly impressed by this one. While she may not be known for her stalling abilities like other heroes are, tutubell22 proves that Mercy clearly has the potential to buy the team some time.
