In Geralt's harsh and dangerous job, he needs every advantage he can get his hands on. To that end, players of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt scour the map, turning over any rock for any resource that might help them gain an edge over the monsters and men they fight. One Witcher 3 fan on Reddit brough one of those magical resources into the real world to make a truly enchanting wedding gift.
Earlier last week, Reddit user u/Christmaspoo1337 showed off their latest creation: a model of one of the game's Places of Power, naturally occuring fonts of magic that coalesce at certain points and boost the magical power of Geralt's signs. According to the Reddit post, the craftsman put it together for a wedding gift.

Following the positive response, they even made a separate post showing how to make one. It looks like they managed to put it together using sculpture block for the base, LED lighting and plastic for the effect, and spray paint for color. These magical wonders of nature occur all over the world of The Witcher 3, and one can only imagine that having a bit of that magic in their own home would make any room glow with wonder.
In the comments of their post, the model was extremely well-received by those who saw it. Many inquired if they could buy one, but unfortunately they are not currently for sale, with the builder citing that they are far too expensive to make and that, while they are easy to build, they take a lot of time.
Places of power in The Witcher 3 are findable points on the map that players can use to power up Geralt's magical abilities, or "Signs," and allow them to become stronger or take on special qualities. For this model, the sign in question is Quen because, as the builder puts it, "Seemed the most fitting to me..." In the game, Quen is a spell that places a protective field around Geralt, shielding him from harm. As this model is a wedding gift, it's a thoughtful detail.
Signs have remained a staple in Geralt's arsenal, dating all the way back to the first Witcher game, and while the swords on his back take most of the spotlight, the famous witcher would have been sent to the grave numerous times without his quick and practical spells. With a homemade sentimentality and a clever use of theming, any couple would be lucky to have such a bewitching present in their home.
