At the end of July, Rockstar added a brand new contract to the world of Red Dead Online, tasking players with finding and pilfering a legendary ruby known as the Ember of the East. Players search for the flawless gem in the hills of Annesburg, claiming it by either sneaking into its randomized location or pulling off a daring, guns-blazing heist.
Thanks to Red Dead Online's latest update, those heading into the game to search for the Ember of the East from today until August 2 will score double XP and double RDO$ upon recovering it. It adds more incentive to track down the jewel and steal it from its captors, and luckily, it isn't the only activity that players will be able to reap additional rewards for throughout the week.

Joining the Ember of the East mission, players will be able to net double XP and RDO$ by completing the Blue Water and Cornwall Contracts over the next seven days. Finishing a Blood Money Contract will also net them a free vest and an additional 2,000 XP points. Bonus Capitale will be awarded to players over the next seven days, too. The amount received will be entirely dependant on the user's rank and will be added to their account on September 27. Players at rank 5 or below will receive 10 Capitale, those ranging between rank 6 and rank 50 will receive 15 Capitale, and everyone ranked higher than 50 will receive 20 Capitale.
Alongside the bonus currency, there will be more Capitale found on corpses and in containers during contracts, while an additional 5 Capitale will be awarded for completing a Clearing House activity. Posses can also look forward to netting 20% more XP when completing group missions and enjoying free fast travel throughout the week. Finally, there's a host of discounts to look forward to as well, including a 40% reduction on off-hand holsters and 30% off coats and revolvers. It looks to be a bonus-filled week for Red Dead Online members, allowing them to grab plenty of additional XP, RDO$, and Capitale.
Rockstar is also offering bonuses for those jumping into Grand Theft Auto Online this week, with GTA Online's current event giving away bikes, shirts, and more. Players can even get triple RP and GTA$ for partaking in rounds of the game's Hasta La Vista mode, while bike races net double RP and GTA$. It seems there's plenty of reasons to tune into both of Rockstar's successful crime sandboxes this week, whether that's to claim free bikes or net some additional Capitale.
Red Dead Online is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
