Destiny 2 players can get the catalyst for Ager's Scepter this week in Season of the Lost, and it just became available a few hours ago. Last week, players could get Ager's Scepter itself from the A Hollow Coronation Exotic quest, but catalyst drops were delayed to this week, instead. This is a quick guide on how to get the Ager's Scepter catalyst in Destiny 2 and what it does.
How to Get the Ager's Scepter Catalyst
The catalyst drops in Astral Alignment, and currently, there are no indications as to what the drop chance exactly is. However, after some testing, it appears to be around 15-20% per activity. This means that players should run Astral Alignment a few times before expecting to get the catalyst, even though the drop is completely random and it could happen after a single run.

To launch Astral Alignment, players have to access the area near the Blind Well in the Dreaming City, which can be done from Orbit. Also, it's important to note that there seems to be an issue with Astral Alignment not registering full runs for some players, while for others drops from the chest appear only after returning to Orbit.
Furthermore, the catalyst can only drop from the Wayfinder's Trove chest, meaning Destiny 2 players should carry a bunch of Parallax Trajectory with them when running Astral Alignment. In fact, opening Wayfinder's Troves costs 100 Parallax Trajectory each.
Lastly, the catalyst requires players to kill enemies with Ager's Scepter to gain progress towards its completion, but kills by shatter damage do not count. Also, destroying walls in the Shattered Realm doesn't count as well, despite the catalyst stating otherwise.
What the Ager's Scepter Catalyst Does
First of all, like all catalysts for Destiny 2's Exotic weapons, the one for Ager's Scepter provides Orbs of Power when rapidly defeating combatants. However, there is also a new perk for the weapon, which can be activated when pressing the corresponding key bound to it.
This can only be used when the players' Super energy is full, and it lasts until players run out of Super energy or the weapon runs out of ammo in the magazine, but also if the weapon is stowed while the perk is active.
While buffed with "Will Given Form," players will be able to slow and freeze enemies hit with Ager's Scepter, which will also receive a weapon damage buff. Furthermore, activating the catalyst's perk will overflow the magazine, making it cap at 194 ammo capacity, which is double the current amount.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
