In Lost Judgment, players take the role of private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates some particularly grisly crimes. While working through this investigation, some fans may begin to wonder how long the experience will last them. Shining some light on this matter is the precise purpose of this guide, and fans will find details on the length of Lost Judgment, and a list of its chapters, in what follows.
How Long to Beat Lost Judgment
To start very simply, players that plan to focus almost exclusively on Lost Judgment’s main story can expect to complete the game in around 25 to 30 hours. While this figure can vary somewhat based on the difficulty that a fan selects, and indeed there are four to choose from initially, it is a fairly realistic baseline. That said, players can extend their time with the game considerably by engaging with its myriad of optional content.

Indeed, there are a total of 42 Side Cases in Lost Judgment as well as 10 School Stories, an activity type that was not featured in the game’s predecessor. Fans that put some time toward some, but not all, of this optional content should see their playtimes increase to around 45 hours. And for those players that will go for 100% completion, that feat is likely to take in the vicinity of 100 hours to achieve.
To note, one of the reasons that it takes so long to reach 100% completion is that one of Lost Judgment’s trophies is only granted after the game has been beaten at its “highest difficulty.” That difficulty is “Legend,” and it is unlocked upon reaching the credits on a lower difficulty setting. As such, players will need to complete the game at least twice before they earn the difficult Platinum trophy, though second playthroughs should certainly not be as long as first ones.
For those players that are curious, these numbers are very much aligned with the completion times for 2018’s Judgment. This is sure to please Yakuza fans that are looking for a similarly-sized experience, and indeed there is quite a lot of content to be enjoyed in Lost Judgment.
