Earlier in September, controversial YouTube star and Internet personality David Dobrik traveled to Slovakia. Dobrik was born in Slovakia in 1996, traveling to the United States with his family at the age of six and settling in Illinois. Dobrik returned to Slovakia to film content for his YouTube channel and a new Discovery+ show, as well as reunite with his grandparents that he hadn't seen for nearly two decades. But now Dobrik is apparently stranded in Slovakia and is unable to leave the country.
David Dobrik was able to live in the United States after his parents immigrated to the country thanks to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. Dobrik has been able to stay living in the United States since his family's immigration to the country thanks to DACA, but those who fall under DACA are typically unable to travel outside of the US once they're in. An exception to this, as reported by PopBuzz, is if they manage to obtain a green card.

David Dobrik had previously indicated that he already had his green card, but there appears to be some kind of issue, as he is currently unable to return to the US. Dobrik addressed the situation in an Instragam post, explaining that the rest of the Vlog Squad had left Slovakia, leaving just him and Taylor Hudson in the country. Dobrik explained that everyone else already went home because of how long the process is taking. "It's a lot harder than I thought it was getting my visa and green card," Dobrik said. "I hope to return to the states soon. It's like I'm lost. I'm literally stranded."
Prior to his return to YouTube, Dobrik and his Vlogs were at the center of controversy. Sexual assault allegations were made against members of the Vlog Squad, and Dobrik himself was accused of seriously injuring Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek in a stunt. At the time, Dobrik released an apology video to address the controversies, which in turn led to him being mocked by other YouTubers and even Saturday Night Live.
Dobrik took an extended hiatus from social media and YouTube, but made his return on June 15. Despite the controversies, Dobrik's return video has amassed over 11 million views at the time of this writing. Dobrik's latest video, titled "MY FIRST TIME LEAVING THE COUNTRY!!" currently has 7.6 million views, so it doesn't seem as though Dobrik's overall star power didn't take much of a hit.
Besides YouTube, Dobrik has appeared on Twitch streams, TV shows, movies, and more. His entertainment career will be on pause for now, though, as he attempts to work his way through the immigration system and return to the United States.
