Twitch partner Atrioc, real name Brandon Ewing, gets banned from the platform with no reason stated, though people are pretty sure they know why.

Twitch is known throughout the gaming community, not only as one of the most popular streaming websites in the world, but also because of its penchant for banning users, sometimes for reasons that are not always clear. Despite the fact that the Amazon-owned platform recently changed its banning policy to try and make it more transparent, it still has something of a reputation when it comes to kicking users off its site. Now, another streamer has been booted off and while there doesn't seem to be any reason given, viewers and commenters are pretty sure they know why they were hit with the ban hammer.

In a post on Twitter recently, an account known as StreamBans has told the community that Twitch partner Atrioc has been banned from streaming. No details as to the reason have been made known, but the hashtags in the tweet suggest that this is his first ban. It's also likely to only be temporary, though it's unclear how long it will last. Atrioc himself, who's real name is Brandon Ewing, has not said anything about the ban on his own Twitter account.

While there are some controversial Twitch bannings that have occurred, with some people kicked off the platform for very good reason, there are times when the reasons for a ban are contentious at best. However, this is may not be the case for Atrioc. While there has been no official statement from the streamer, some people commenting on Twitter believe they know why the ban has happened. It relates to a clip which has been doing the rounds, in which Atrioc is seen browsing through numerous Wikipedia articles. Some of the articles related to NSFW content, with images being shown which break Twitch's TOS. It's likely that this is the reason he was banned.

If this is the case, then many will understand why Atrioc has been booted off the site temporarily. As mentioned above, it's likely to only be for a short while. The same cannot be said for other big streamers. Last June, Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch permanently, though his move to YouTube does not seem to have slowed down his popularity.

Some of the bigger streamers are now starting to migrate to alternative platforms, such as YouTube. This could be because of the way Twitch bans broadcasters, or the allegations that the company is paying less for its most lucrative users, or the recent controversy over the "hate raid" fiasco. All that aside, it's likely that Atrioc will be allowed to return to the site at some point.
