In a twist on the seemingly peaceful Overwatch mascot, a piece of fan art depicts the adorable Pachimari attacking Tracer.

When creating Hanamura in Overwatch, the designers needed a toy for the UFO catcher claw game in the map's arcade. That toy became Pachimari, an adorable onion-like creature that has become a sort of mascot for the hero shooter. It has regularly been the subject of various Overwatch fan art, but they've mostly just been depicted as the cute little creatures they are. Recently, one fan artist decided to take a different route, showing what Pachimari would be like if they went bad.

In a piece of fan art posted to Reddit, user u/Kahze depicts Tracer being overwhelmed by attacking Pachimari. Since the character relies heavily on her speed and agility, being tripped up by tentacles appears to be an efficient way to stop her in her tracks. She still has a pulse bomb and recall at her disposal, however, so she still stands a chance. The most disturbing part of the artwork is how the Pachimari keep their gleeful little smiles the entire time they're aggressively attacking.

In March, Overwatch held a Pachimari challenge event that added various rewards featuring the mascot. Players had the chance to earn several sprays of Pachimario dressed several characters from the game. The event also added a hilarious new emote for Junkrat, but the most coveted reward is PachiMari Roadhog skin.

Smaller events like the Pachimari event have been popping up every now and then within the game, but larger events and updates have noticeably been slowing down. Blizzard is saving a lot of the big stuff for the sequel, and it shows. The developer has been trickling in information on what those updates will be, however. Recently, Blizzard revealed Sombra's Overwatch 2 rework, which drastically improves her ability to doll out damage.

Sombra won't be the only character to receive updates in the sequel either. Ever since the developer announced that the game would be going from 6v6 to 5v5, losing a tank slot, players knew a lot about the game had to be changed. Alongside Sombra, Blizzard also previewed changes to Bastion, another damage hero in need of an update.

Outside of character changes, players are wanting fresh events for the game as well. The seasonal events (Summer Games, Halloween Terror, etc.) are nice, but more needs to be added to keep the game feeling fresh. An event playing off the obvious heroes vs villains trope could be a good jumping-off point. For example, an Overwatch vs Talon event in Overwatch 2 has the potential to be a big success. However, a new Pachimario event may prove just as popular.

Overwatch 2 is currently in development for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
