Sony released a new Venom: Let There Be Carnage clip that shows the transformation of Woody Harrelson's character into the supervillain.

Sony Pictures has released an official clip from the highly awaited flick Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which introduces viewers to the film’s supervillain. The 30-second teaser footage was exclusively shared by the production studio on various social media channels and already has fans talking about how the film will portray the popular character from the comics.

As the title suggests, Sony's Venom: Let There Be Carnage will see the anti-hero Venom go up against Carnage, the evil symbiote. The exclusive clip shows viewers the moment when the serial killer Cletus Kasady, played by Woody Harrelson in the upcoming film, transforms into Carnage. After years of waiting, fans will finally get to see the live-action version of the supervillain arrive in the cinematic world.

The Venom: Let There Be Carnage clip begins with a shot of Harrelson's Kasady waiting for his lethal execution, potentially for his crimes against humanity. The moment when the injections are pumped into his veins, things go very wrong. Kasady immediately reacts to the chemicals and within a few seconds, transforms into the supervillain who everyone is waiting to watch on the big screen.

In the previously released trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, it is already established that Kasady is on trial for his crimes as a serial killer, and as his final request, he asks to meet with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock, who happens to be an investigative journalist. During their meeting, Kasady recognizes that Brock’s blood is unique in some way, and attacks him, including biting his hand.

Glimpses of Kasady’s transformation into Carnage were visible in the trailer, too, but the newly released footage provides fans an in-depth view of how the conversion occurs. It is known that he will then use his symbiote form to escape from prison, and obviously cause carnage in the world.

The supervillain was first introduced in the comics in 1992, and this is the first time the character is being adapted for film. Over his several appearances in the comics, Carnage proves to be a worthy opponent for Venom, Spider-Man, and even the Avengers. The exclusive clip was released just in time for Venom 2's premiere, which has been quite delayed already. It was initially scheduled for a summer release and has had its premiere date changed several times until finally finding its October spot.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be released in theaters on October 1, 2021.
