Halo Infinite has already had a similar event, and 343 Industries has indicated that everything that was available during the game's first preview will also be available during the upcoming test. This includes modes such as Capture The Flag, Slayer, Big Team Battle, and Strongholds. Throughout the weekend, players will have access to the multiplayer preview from 10am to 2pm PT and 5pm to 9pm PT. Players will also have acces to some of Halo Infinite's iconic vehicles.
Players who participate in a total of 10 or more matches will receive a special reward in the form of a unique emblem for their Spartans when the game releases.
343 Industries stated that the goal of this multiplayer tech preview is to “test the services behind Halo Infinite at a large scale.” Such a big event will allow 343 Industries to gather real world data about the PC hardware being used to run the game. The studio will also get a chance to further gauge some gameplay features, such as Halo Infinite's return to the classic radar system.
Players will also have access to a first for the Halo series: a training mode. Players will be able load into a match with bots that they can customize with various weapons, grenades, equipment, etc. Players will also be able to tweak the difficulty level of the bots, as well as the teams they are on. More Weapon Drills will also be available during the technical preview, including the returning fan-favorite drill for the S7 Sniper. Many fans showed clear excitement at the thought of getting more hands-on time with the game, even stating Halo Infinite's advantages over its competition.
Halo Infinite is set to release on December 8th for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
