The latest Nintendo Direct presentation didn't have much in the way of Pokemon news, but Nintendo has made up for that with a brand new trailer for the upcoming Switch exclusive open world Pokemon game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The latest Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer gives Pokemon fans one of their best looks yet at the gameplay, revealing a brand new kind of Pokemon called Noble Pokemon in the process.
Based on the trailer, it seems as though Noble Pokemon will basically serve as the boss fights in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. One Noble Pokemon is shown at the end of the latest Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer in the form of Kleavor, a bug/rock-type Pokemon that's known as the Lord of the Woods and the Axe Pokemon. In the trailer, viewers can see the Pokemon Legends: Arceus trainer battling Kleavor by throwing things at it and eventually using starter Pokemon Oshawott to defeat him. After Kleavor's been beat, the Pokemon trainer throws a strange bag at him, and his glow disappears, giving fans a look at his proper form.

The introduction of Noble Pokemon is the most exciting bit of info to come out of the Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer, but it's not the only thing that's featured. The trailer also shows players riding Pokemon around the Hisui region, as well as meeting Wardens, who "protect special Pokemon." More details on what exactly these Wardens are and what role they serve in the grand scheme of things is unclear at the time of this writing, but more information should come to light in the weeks leading up to the game's launch.
After showing the Wardens to the viewer, the Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer then shows off Jubilife City, one of the towns that Pokemon trainers will visit while exploring the Hisui region. While in Jubilife City, the player crafts items and manages their Pokemon team. As the player is managing their team, one of the Pokemon has a label about their "original partner" which suggests that Pokemon Legends: Arceus will have a trading system like past Pokemon games.
When Pokemon Legends: Arceus players are done crafting items and managing their roster, they can check out the rest of what Jubilife City has to offer. This includes a clothes shop where players can buy a variety of outfits to customize their character's appearance, as well as a photography studio that lets players take a picture with one of their Pokemon.
The latest trailer also confirms more Pokemon for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and it's clear that the game will be offering plenty of creatures for players to collect. It will be interesting to see what other Noble Pokemon there are, especially since Kleavor appears to be one of the first Noble Pokemon that players will encounter in the game.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches January 28, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
