Marvel Studios' Eternals may have been limited to mature audiences in Russia despite receiving a PG-13 rating in the United States.

While Marvel Studios' Eternals may have received a PG-13 rating for its U.S. release, it appears the superhero film has earned a more strict rating in Russia.

Marvel Studios' Eternals follows a group of cosmic beings known that were created by the celestials, who are also known for making the Deviants and humans. In the comics, Thanos has both Eternals and Deviant DNA, so fans are hoping some of the Mad Titan's backstory will be explored in the film.

Eternals' release is a little over a month away, so it by now has received ratings that have mostly been around PG-13 for "fantasy violence and action, some language and brief sexuality." The trailer has teased an aspect for each of these, so it doesn't come as a surprise that Russia has reportedly given Eternals an 18+ rating. This news is according to one of Russia's movie sites, Kino Metro, and such a rating is usually given to films that are "prohibited for children."

The only aspect of Eternals that may be inappropriate for children is the "fantasy violence" or "brief sexuality." Marvel Studios films aren't known for highlighting romance or sex scenes, so this may be the first time where they change up the formula. The Eternals trailer has a depressing atmosphere and a lot of combat, so maybe that's also what caused the rating. Right now, it's all speculation until fans finally see the movie in theaters this November.

Eternals will be bringing in a group of new superheroes rather than just one solo hero, as Marvel Studios typically does, so expect many fans to gravitate to their favorite member of the Eternals. There's plenty of different heroes to pick and choose from, with each one bringing something different to the table.

After introducing the cosmos in Eternals, fans are hoping to get one step closer to discovering the cosmic entity older than the universe itself, Galactus. Typically a villain of the Fantastic Four, Galactus would be a threat bigger than anything the Avengers have faced before. While Marvel is casting for its Fox properties, many fans are wildly speculating about what to expect for the upcoming changes to be made in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eternals will be in theaters on November 5th, 2021.
