With rumors about Spider-Man and Venom meeting up on the big screen, fan-art imagines Tom Holland's Peter Parker in the symbiote suit.

With both Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home set to be released before the end of the year, rumors continue to swirl about if and when the two franchises might crossover. As always, fans have taken their excitement about those possibilities to some creative levels with an impressive new bit of fan art.

Artist Cesar Castillo (@elilusionista.cl) posted an image on their Instagram page offering a stunning look at what Tom Holland's Spider-Man might look like in the "Venomverse." The image uses a still from Holland in one of the MCU Spider-Man movies while editing the iconic black symbiote suit onto him. Castillo even tagged Holland in the image to better show off the great bit of fan art.

As introduced in the comics, the black symbiote suit is an alien entity that attaches itself to Peter Parker and briefly becomes his main Spider-Man suit. While it enhances his powers considerably, the suit also brings out Peter's darker side until he realizes he has to separate himself from it. At that point, the symbiote attaches itself to Eddie Brock, who then becomes Venom. The storyline was used for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, though many fans felt that storyline was the worst aspect of the sequel.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage sees the return of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, who deals with his complicated relationship with Venom as well as the arrival of another symbiote threat known as Carnage. The movie is directed by Andy Serkis and also stars Michelle Williams, Naomi Harris, and Woody Harrelson as Carnage. Spider-Man: No Way Home deals with the aftermath of Peter's identity becoming public. When he asks Doctor Strange to fix the problem with a spell, it brings in threats from the multiverse, including Alfred Molina's Doc Ock.

This fun bit of fan art further adds fuel to the excitement that fans might get to see Holland's Spider-Man and Hardy's Venom meeting on the big screen someday. If they do indeed face-off in some future movie, it will be interesting to see if it follows the comic book storyline of Peter hosting the symbiote. It would be fun to see Holland's Peter Parker develop a darker personality.

It will also be interesting to see what the dynamic between the characters is since the Venom movies have already established him as an anti-hero, so it's hard to picture him serving as a villain to Spider-Man. In any case, the image lets fans continue to imagine all the cool possibilities to come.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
