After numerous delays, Amazon's New World MMORPG has finally launched for PC players. Already the game has proven quite popular with fans, who have shown up in droves to explore the world of Aeternum. However, this popularity has become a double edged sword as the New World servers have been overwhelmed and causing plenty of long queue times. While things continue to improve, the lengthy queue times have prompted Amazon to offer free server transfers to New World players in an effort to reduce server strain.
Still, for those who have been able to jump into the game, they've found a massive world filled with quests to finish, trades to experience, and loot to find. Trade Skills have already proven to be very popular with many as they're a core element for character progression due to XP gain as well as a big piece of the game's economy. One such skill in the gathering section is Tracking & Skinning, which let's players hunt animals for different materials and pelts.

The higher the level gained in Tracking & Skinning, the player will then get better and more rare animals to find. One such beast in New World is the Grizzly Bear, a tough opponent that offers plenty of resources and materials if it can be brought down. However, the major problem is that they're not as plentiful as many of the other animals and can only be found in a handful of spots in the world making them fairly rare.
Before Fighting Grizzly Bears
As expected, grizzlies are a tough fight so players should prepare before battle. One thing to note is that grizzlies are all elite enemies so players will want to be at least level 20 to have a chance. For a better chance against these tough foes, players will ideally want to be between level 25-30.
Still, the reward may outweigh the risk as grizzlies are a great source of materials needed for other Trade Skills including those under the Crafting and Refining trees. However, players will need to ensure they have a skinning knife as it is required in order to harvest anything from a downed grizzly. In addition, the loot that drops can be impacted by the player's skill level, location, and luck bonus.
Where to Find Grizzly Bears
There are three locations in New World where players can find grizzlies roaming in the wilds of Aeternum. The regions to look are in Monarch's Bluff, Brightwood, and Weaver's Fen.
Monarch's Bluff
Inside of the region known as Monarch's Bluff, grizzlies can be found inside the Lodestone Lair towards the lower part of the region, below the words Verdant Crown. Many players consider this location to be the best spot for grizzly hunting as there can be up to 5 that spawn here.
Outside of that, there's another location towards the eastern side of the region called Howltower Hollow that spawns one bear under level 20. Many players are reporting that the respawn timer on this bear tends to be on the lengthier side, so for players on a quest requiring 3 or 5 grizzly kills, this may not be a great spot.
Alternatively, players can find another spot south of the Monarch's Bluff settlement and almost to the east of Monarch's Bluff Watchtower.
Brightwood
In the central zone of Brightwood, players will want to head to the Northeastern section of the region called Greyvale, nearly directly east of the Brightwood Settlement. There are some girzzlies that spawn in this mountainous region as well as along the river nearby near a crossroads to the west of Greyvale.
There's also a smaller location to the Southwest of the Brightwood Settlement or Northeast of Brightwood Fort near a small lake.
Weaver's Fen
The next region to the east, Weaver's Fen, also has a great grizzly bear spot to the north of Weaver's Fen Fort. In a large field, west of the Fast Travel station, players can find grizzlies walking around.
Everfall
The other location to check out is in the middle region of Aeternum called Everfall. On the eastern border players will find a zone called Bearclaw Pass and in it, a location known as Ginger Hovel. The recommended level here is 22, which aligns with the player level recommendation for fighting these bears. Inside a cave system, players will find a grizzly inside, though again, the respawn timer prevents this location from being the optimal farm spot.
