Considering Destiny 2's Stranger and Ghost Fish both made appearances on the long list of complaints, it's clear that several fans were expecting payoffs to storytelling that they never received. Some Destiny fans that experienced the original game reminisced about things that the first title had that the sequel doesn't, but one Reddit user claimed that Destiny wasn't better, their lives were just better when Destiny was released. Some others stated that Destiny 2 didn't release in a better state than Destiny, but it took time to get there.
One Destiny 2 fan pointed something out that cannot be unseen by others in the Reddit community as they stated several parts of Destiny 2 are off-center. Some examples that they gave included the Blind Well console and the lift in Calus' Throne room. Another Destiny 2 player noted that the astral alignment beacons are replaced by slightly different models of the same beacons when completing the activity.
Frustrated Destiny 2 players claimed that Bungie waits until they pick a gun to get comfortable with before nerfing it in a future update. Multiple Destiny 2 fans discussed the grind towards getting Vex Mythoclast and the expectations that it'll be nerfed in the future. One Reddit user went on a rant about how unnecessary the Fighting Lion nerf was and that the weapon is no longer viable as a result.
Reddit user TheBitWolf pointed out the frustrating pin-point accuracy of Destiny 2's NPC AI and that they don't have to reload between barrages either. TheBitWolf noted Colossi, Ogres, Shriekers, and Taken Hobgoblins as specific enemies that feel broken. Because of issues in PvE and PvP not always being connected, another Reddit user pointed out that Bungie should consider balancing weapons, abilities, etc. in Crucible PvP only or in PvE.
After some controversy, Nolan North replaced Peter Dinklage as the voice of the Destiny ghost, but several Destiny 2 fans have voiced their appreciation for the Dinkle bot. Some players voiced their opinions about various NPC's, with one being glad that Cayde 6 died, others called Failsafe annoying, and one Destiny 2 fan suggested that NPC's in the game are "mostly wasted." Although most of these Destin 2 players had negative things to say about the game, many of them remain dedicated fans.
Destiny 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
