The next five games coming to PlayStation Now in October 2021 may have been leaked online, and the list includes some controversial titles.

Sony's PlayStation Now subscription service has built up a massive library of more than 700 games over the years. Now, it appears that some of the new games scheduled to be added to PlayStation Now in October 2021 have been leaked online, and the list seems to include some very interesting titles.

Redditor d3vstator recently shared what appears to be a screenshot showing a number of games recently added to PS Now. PS Now is well-known for having access to great games, but this image shows a variety of new titles including the controversial The Last of Us 2, the greatly improved Fallout 76, the stealth/western Desperados 3, a blast from the past in the form of Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, and what appears to be Yet Another Zombie Defense.

This collection of new and old PlayStation classics could help clear up some common misconceptions about PS Now, such as the idea that old games aren't worth playing. Setting aside the fact that Fallout 76 has received a lot of post-launch support and now appears to be much more warmly received than it was at the beginning of its lifetime, the continued popularity of Final Fantasy 8 over two decades after its initial release is a strong counter to this argument. Graphics may show their age faster and faster each year, but a good game can still be timeless. While divisive, The Last of Us 2 was critically acclaimed, and it is a great example of how the service offers newer games as well.

However, subscribers may want to take this list with a grain of salt, as d3vstator doesn't appear to have listed a specific source for the screenshot. While it's possible that a mistake occurred on Sony's end that led to the service being updated early for some subscribers, or that a screenshot was leaked by testers, it's also possible that the image has been edited. Whatever the case, a Sony patent suggests that PS Now may be getting PS5 games in the future, so it appears that PS Now subscribers will still have something to look forward to.

As of writing, fans appear to be cautiously optimistic about this screenshot, with one user mourning their recent decision to drop their PS Now subscription. Several gamers began discussing whether Fallout 76, a seeming new addition to PS Now's list of multiplayer games, could be completed by solo players. Another user noted that PS Now occasionally adds more than just five games per month and wonders if more titles will be coming, especially since Yet Another Zombie Defense seems to be cut off in the screenshot.
