While Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been confirmed to be in development, there hasn't been much by way of new information. The teaser trailer for Spider-Man 2 that was shown off during the most recent PlayStation showcase did feature Venom, which has led many fans to assume that the symbiote suit, or black Spider suit, will be making an appearance in the game. Though, one fan has a theory on how the suit could operate.
Since the release of the original Marvel's Spider-Man, alternate special Spider suits have attributed greatly to the series' overall allure. With several different suits to choose from and with each one featuring its own special ability, the differing Spider suits add a lot in terms of gameplay. However, given Venom's presence in the second game, one suit in particular seems to be almost an immediate shoe-in: the black symbiote suit.

A Reddit user named LordGetsuga theorized that as the game goes on, the symbiote suit could gradually change in appearance, similar to how the suit works in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon series. As the story progresses, the suit's design could drastically change depending on how the symbiote has influenced Peter and his psyche, which would certainly be accurate to how the suit actually behaves.
This was a really neat detail in Spectacular Spider-Man where the black suit's appearance was tied to how much it had taken over Pete's mind. It would be damn good if Insomniac takes inspiration from this and let's the suit 'develop' over the course of the symbiote arc in the next game from SpidermanPS4
This idea does possess a lot of potential, but there are some inherent limitations in terms of how the idea could be executed in-game. Considering that players have the choice to wear whatever suit they choose, the composition would likely be broken if that feature only pertained to the symbiote suit. For instance, the advanced suit in Marvel's Spider-Man is technically the official suit worn in that game, but players have the option to wear a completely different suit the whole game.
Ultimately, Venom's inclusion in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 brings up a lot of questions that have yet to be properly answered, especially in terms of the symbiote suit. Given how soon the game was announced and how far off its 2023 release date is, it's unlikely that fans will be able to find out much more until Insomniac Games is ready to show off more of the game.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Considering that Insomniac is developing the Wolverine game in tandem with Spider-Man 2, new gameplay possibilites for both games are quite exciting to think about. With any luck, not only will the symbiote suit make an appearance in the game, but will also feature a new combat mechanic similar to the other suits that have come before it.
Spider-Man 2 is in development for PS5.
