After receiving a permanent ban from Twitch for his third ban, extremely popular Spanish streamer MarkiLokurasY returns to the platform.

Twitch always has controversial news centered on it for one reason or another, whether it be the platform itself, the streamers it houses, or the fans of those streamers. Recently Twitch was hacked, resulting in a huge data leak, which may well be the most significant development on the platform in recent memory.

However, with the damage hopefully contained for now, life is continuing more or less as usual for those who use Twitch to stream or watch. Some of those users were bummed out when, a little over a month ago, Spanish streamer MarkiLokurasY was handed a permanent ban. They now have reason to be less distraught.

The reason behind MarkiLokurasY's permanent ban didn't have to do with any outrageous behavior or line crossing on his part, at least not this time. It stemmed from him having been banned twice before, with one more meaning a permanent ban. That final ban came when, during a very long livestream, a naked man was caught on camera, violating Twitch's sexual content terms. However, in a somewhat stunning reversal, Twitch has reversed that permanent ban, letting MarkiLokurasY back on the platform. Considering the fact that it took Axiun two years to get back on Twitch with a non-permanent ban, this is a huge turn of fortune for MarkiLokurasY.

There is, as of this article, no reason given for the overturning of what was supposed to be a permanent ban, but several reasons can be inferred. For starters, it was never an intentional violation of terms on the part of MarkiLokurasY, and he gave a statement that he was actively attempting to prevent problems like this on stream. The terms may be general, but that is no reason for individual cases to always follow them to the letter. The streamer Destiny was banned for things that are, to Twitch, far more serious right now. Keeping someone permanently banned for an accident seems petty and counterproductive.

Then again, MarkiLokurasY is not just any streamer. He has gained a fan base of over one million followers on Twitch, becoming one of its most popular Spanish streamers. It's hard to think that a regular streamer would be as lucky in getting a permanent ban reversed with no explanation. The biggest Twitch streamers make huge amoungs of money for themselves and the platform, so Twitch is not without incentive to unban MarkiLokurasY.

Whatever the reason, be it accident, profit, or a combination of both, MarkiLokurasY is back on Twitch. He has continued streaming on YouTube in his absence, and will likely continue playing Fortnite as though there was no interruption. Whether or not he is now on Twitch's supposed "do not ban" list is unknown.
