The final DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Kingdom Hearts' protagonist Sora. While there were many other characters fans hoped would make it, Sora's inclusion is undoubtedly exciting and brings a pretty unique playstyle to the game. The announcement of Sora's addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was followed up by the announcement that the series will make its way to the Nintendo Switch for any players who wanted to catch up on Sora's story.
Like all DLC characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora comes with a number of songs from Kingdom Hearts, as well as a new stage. Sora's map is based on Hollow Bastion from the first Kingdom Hearts and features a platform flying around the massive spire. However, the stage eventually changes to the game's Dive to the Heart area, with characters from the series appearing in a massive stained glass murals behind the stage. The characters appearing is another treat for fans, but those who haven't played Kingdom Hearts may want to know more about them.

Riku
Riku appeared in the first Kingdom Hearts, and is a childhood friend of Sora. Throughout the series, players see Riku when he is only five years old all the way to when he is an adult in Kingdom Hearts 3. This means players see a lot of change in Riku throughout Kingdom Hearts, which has made him a beloved character among fans. This includes his relationship strengthening with Sora and Mickey Mouse, as well as becoming a keyblade master in his own right, making him a very capable companion and fighter.
Kairi, another childhood friend of Sora and Riku who is heavily featured throughout the series, did not get her own mural in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However she is featured as a head in the mural that prominantly shows Sora, joined by another Riku, the Paopu fruit they share on Destiny Islands, and the raft they attempt to build together.
Roxas
Roxas is a complicated character in Kingdom Hearts' lore. He is what's known as a Nobody, or a being created when an individual loses their hearts to darkness. Roxas in particular was made when Sora released his heart to restore Kairi's in Kingdom Hearts 1, and he has continued to exist despite Sora finding a way to get his heart back. Roxas is unique among Nobodies because he does have real emotions despite his personality being largely similar to that of Sora. That said, he is less impulsive than his counterpart.

Xion
Xion is an imperfect replica of Sora that was created via his memories. This was done as a failsafe by the secretive Organization 13 in case it was unable to use Sora or Roxas for its own designs. Her physical appearance is similar to that of Kiara, as many of Sora's most important memories that she was built using all involved Kairi in some way. Because of her origins, she fights very similarly to Sora, while also having similar traits related to her emotions and always wanting to be with her friends Roxas and Axel. However, Xion has not been in many Kingdom Hearts titles, with her most recent appearance being in the DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3.
Terra
Terra is a very important character in the Kingdom Hearts series. He trained extensively to be a keyblade master alongside his best friend Aqua under Master Eraqus. However, during his test to become a keyblade master, he failed due to not being able to overcome the darkness in his heart that was stoked by series antagonist Xehanort. He receives a mission from Master Eraqus to save Kingdom Hearts' Princesses of Heart, which leads to him eventually naming Riku as a successor and allowing him to wield the keyblade in the future. However, much of his time is spent under the possession of Xehanort, who uses his younger body to continue enacting evil schemes.
Aqua
Aqua is a keyblade master that is extremely devoted to her friends. In later Kingdom Hearts games she helps train Kairi, and she frequently exhibits humility despite becoming one of the most powerful keyblade fighters in the series. Even after becoming a master she refers to herself as a trainee, and she has never strayed from the path of light despite various hardships and tribulations she has overcome. She is also extremely agile and attuned to magic, making her fighting style unique as she is able to combine her three proficiencies in different ways.
Ventus
Ventus is best friends with both Aqua and Terra, and was an apprentice to both Master Xehanort and Master Eraqus. Ventus' heart is damaged during a fight and he becomes comatose, leading to his heart being stored within Sora's to recover - explaining why Roxas resembles Ventus more than Sora himself. The character eventually awakens from his 11-year coma with the help of Sora's Power of Waking, after which he saves Aqua from a battle with Vanitas. Ventus has played a considerable role in the Kingdom Hearts series, but he is not featured as frequently as other characters. However, this could change in the future as Aqua may be less likely to return in Kingdom Hearts 4.
