The tutorial cartoons for the Nintendo Switch have been updated to include the features from the newest model, the Nintendo Switch OLED.

The Nintendo Switch OLED has arrived, this being a brand new model of Nintendo's existing hybrid Switch console. While the differences are not as big as some fans may have hoped, this new OLED iteration has a lot of advantages over the previous ones. These include changes to some aspects of its hardware, such as the new OLED screen, as well as larger internal storage. There's even a new built-in ethernet port on the dock, which can help when fans play games online and docked. These changes all help to give the model better visual and audio quality when they're being played in hand-held mode.

With this new model of the Nintendo Switch comes an understated change that most may not know about. Upon booting up the console for the first time or checking the Nintendo Switch Information Center in the "News" tab on the Switch's home screen, it will allow players to check in on the latest firmware or hardware news for the console, as well as any new tips and tricks for new players of the console. They include little cartoony pictures that talk about the subject in question, whether it would be how to use the screenshot function or how to set the console in tabletop mode. These cartoons have been updated to use the Nintendo Switch OLED model.

This discovery was posted to the r/NintendoSwitch subreddit by user Goodatbeingnoob. It shows the "Quick Intro to Quick Settings" and "Where Do I Put the microSD Card" articles from the Nintendo Switch Information Center channel using the OLED model. It is most obvious in the cartoon when the console is being used in tabletop mode, with its larger kickstand being used to prop it up for play.

The other cartoon shows a Ninja putting the microSD card in the correct slot. The original shows the original Switch's smaller kickstand being lifted and inserted into the bottom. The updated cartoon with the OLED model uses the larger kickstand being lifted, along with the new microSD card's slot position. These updated cartoons can only be found if the player is using the OLED model, as going to these articles on the vanilla model still show the original Switch's kickstand and micro SD card slot.

Even with such a tiny and overlooked feature of the Switch OLED, these tutorials showcase continuity and reference material that is relevant to the current model that the player is using. Based on public perception of the new console, it seems like the Nintendo Switch OLED is also a warmly regarded upgrade to the original as well.
