This marvel of technology will make hatching eggs way easier. Here's what you need to know about Egg Incubators.

Quick Links

Breeding and raising creatures can be difficult in a game as unforgiving as ARK: Survival Evolved, as there are constant threats that could be lurking around any tree or boulder. Eggs, needing specific conditions to develop and hatch, can be tricky to care for due to the variability between species.

Thankfully, in Genesis: Part 2, Egg Incubators were added to give players an easier time with their breeding pursuits. However, before one can make use of an Egg Incubator, players will still have to acquire the appropriate resources to build one at their ARK: Survival Evolved base.

Everything You Need To Know About Egg Incubator Functions

Players in ARK: Survival Evolved can place 10 eggs into an Egg Incubator at once and only 3 can be built in the same area. They can control the settings for each small egg chamber individually to accommodate the hatching requirements of multiple different species.

Monitoring the status of the eggs is easy, as players can peek at them through the incubator's window to see their stats and progress without having to take them out of the Egg Incubator's inventory. If an egg develops successfully, players will have to use the manual ejection function to release the newborn from within the egg chamber. It should also be mentioned that this same function can be used to dispose of unwanted and damaged eggs instead of making them into Kibble of some kind.

Egg Incubator Power Supply

Despite the convenience that the Egg Incubator provides, it is not guaranteed to hatch eggs successfully. This device relies on power to function, and, without a constant source, the eggs inside could be destroyed if left uncared for. How they fare will be determined by the outside conditions, as, when powered down, Egg incubators don't do anything and act as a generic object.

Hatching Speed

Eggs placed inside an Egg Incubator that is set to the egg's optimal temperature will increase the development of that egg by a maximum of 20%. If players plan to do a lot of breeding, this function will make things go much quicker.
