Final Fantasy 14 is rapidly becoming the MMORPG of choice for many players. A true success emerging from failure story, the game sees players travelling its world, enjoying its engaging story and soundtrack, and pursuing the rarest mounts in Final Fantasy 14 with focus.
However, some of the best parts of Final Fantasy 14 are not coded into the game by the developers, but rather created wholesale by the players. The Final Fantasy 14 community is notoriously fun-loving, and they have some seriously creative ways of entertaining. Case in point: two in-game cosplayers bent on bringing joy to other players through the magic of chicken.

Thanks to a robust costume system, detailed Final Fantasy 14 cosplay is not limited to outside the game. One player, who goes by _Vard_, regularly cosplays as Colonel Sanders within the game itself, copying the iconic look of the KFC mascot to a tee. With a huge white tophat and pure white suit, plus the iconic facial hair, _Vard_ photobombs other players occassionally with hilarious antics. These are often accompanied by another player who dresses up as a giant chicken, the Colonel's arch-nemesis. When the two meet, feathers fly.
The duo have a number of small clips shot that show off their comedy, and it's pretty good. One bit shows the chicken climb into a wall using a pre-programmed motion, only for _Vard_ as the Colonel to get thrownout. Another shows the chicken spinning silently atop a fire. One of the things everyone should know before starting Final Fantasy 14 is that the community is very inclusive and loves having fun with multiple players. So it's not a surprise when one player stepped up to the rotating chicken and, joining in the joke, spewed fire all over them.
This is hardly the first time a player has ambushed others with a detailed, comedic costume and attitude in Final Fantasy 14. Recently, a different player dressed up as Todd Howard at Lunarcon and tried to sell festival goers copies of Skyrim within Final Fantasy 14.
Incidentally, _Vard_ is also prepared to sell something: anyone who asks him for some KFC will receive the item equivalent of a $5 in-game. It's nice to know that when many Final Fantasy 14 players cause chaos, it's usually in a fun and creative way. From copies of Skyrim to KFC, players are brightening a fantasy world with fantasies of their own.
Final Fantasy 14 is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
