Cyanide Studio and Nacon release a new trailer for Blood Bowl 3 to coincide with Super Bowl 55, featuring an in-universe commercial product.

Much of America tuned into Super Bowl 55 on Sunday to watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9, netting Tom Brady his seventh Super Bowl ring. However, just as many people likely watched the game for its commercials, including a Reddit ad inspired by the recent events surrounding GameStop. Today, developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Nacon released a new trailer for Blood Bowl 3 to capitalize on the commercial craze.

Blood Bowl is a spin-off of Warhammer, featuring mythological races like dwarves and ogres taking part in fantasy football matches as a kind of gory take on EA's Madden franchise. The trailer released by Cyanide Studio today depicts a sort of Super Bowl advert set within the game's universe for Bugman's Beer.

The video finds a single dwarf is surrounded by the opposing team after all his teammates are rendered unconscious or dead, but he finds the strength to push through when offered a mug of, "Probably the best beer in the Old World." After being delayed last year, Blood Bowl 3 announced a closed beta coming sometime in 2021. This Bugman's Beer trailer does not offer any details about that beta, but it does let fans know they can Wishlist the game on Steam.

Steam currently lists Blood Bowl 3 as having an August 2021 release date, but fans will have to wait and see if that holds. In the meantime, Cyanide Studio lead narrative designer Pia Jacqmart also assisted in developing the 2020 indie release ScourgeBringer, which could offer something to do before Blood Bowl 3.

Blood Bowl 3 is scheduled to release August 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
