The Batman director Matt Reeves shared a new photo of Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, ahead of the trailer debut at DC FanDome.

DC FanDome is nearly upon fans, and the virtual event is set to unveil new details about Warner Bros. and DC's The Batman. Now, director Matt Reeves has shared a new photo of Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, the alter-ego of Catwoman, ahead of The Batman trailer.

Set during the second year of The Dark Knight's career as a masked crime-fighter, Reeves' The Batman will star Robert Pattinson in the titular role along with an ensemble cast of performers portraying iconic DC characters. As the first trailer for The Batman revealed, the primary antagonist will be Paul Dano's the Riddler, although this incarnation of the classic DC villain appears to be inspired by real-world serial killers.

In the comics, Catwoman has been both an adversary and a partner to Batman. Which of the two Kravitz's version of the character will be to Pattinson's Batman remains to be seen, though fans might have a better sense after the new The Batman trailer debuts. In a post on his official Twitter account, Reeves promised fans will see more of Kravitz's Selina Kyle at DC FanDome 2021. The message also included a photo of Kravitz as Selina Kyle, who is wearing a white top while standing inside of what appears to be an apartment or house, seemingly during the night. She is also looking at someone or something out of frame, though who or what will remain a mystery for the time being.

While Reeves' photo is one of the few official glimpses at Kravitz as Selina Kyle, it is not the first look fans have gotten of the character. During production on The Batman, set photos and videos surfaced online that show Kravitz's Selina Kyle attending what appeared to be a funeral for a prominent Gotham City figure. Also present during the scene in question was Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobbleplot/Penguin, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

Reeves' has already stated that there are two sequels to The Batman already being planned. Plus, the filmmaker is developing two spin-off series for HBO Max, the first of which will center on a corrupt Gotham City police officer during Batman's first year of crime-fighting. The second spin-off in development will chronicle the rise of the Penguin, with Farrell reportedly approached to reprise the role.

Whether or not there are any plans for Kravitz's Catwoman to be involved in the sequels or spin-offs will likely depend on the character's fate in The Batman. However, most people are excited to see Kravitz's take on Catwoman and are hoping The Batman is just the beginning of her incarnation of the character.

The Batman is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 4th, 2022.
