Ubisoft's latest big release, Far Cry 6, is getting a crossover with Uno, also published online by Ubisoft and a major sales and streaming hit.

Far Cry 6 is the latest in Ubisoft's successful Far Cry series, and it delivers exactly what players expect from the series. Players are exploring all aspects of Far Cry 6 from its cockfighting minigame to more impromptu bullfighting moments.

Overall, it seems that Far Cry 6 is delivering the experience that players expected, but not much else. Still, it's sold well, which is only to be expected for a game that is part of a well established franchise and provides a fun open world experience. In fact, it's done well enough that Ubisoft is doing some cross-promotion.

The official digital publication of Mattel's UNO, also published by Ubisoft, is getting new Far Cry 6 themed DLC. The new DLC costs $4.99/£3.99 and brings both cosmetic and gameplay additions to UNO. In terms of visuals, it replicates the look of a gaming table and background that one might find in Far Cry 6's Yara, and the cards have characters from Far Cry 6 printed on them. In terms of gameplay, players can collect Pesos, though they won't have to wade through Far Cry 6's respawning enemies to do so.

Once earned, the pesos can be put to work calling in four different characters from the game to help players. Each character has a different effect at varying prices, from adding cards to opposing hands to emptying a player's own hand. Other effects include stopping opponents from calling in favors. It provides a constant for players to fall back on, somewhat mitigating the randomness of the cards. In addition, there's one new card with a random effect regarding Pesos for the player who plays it. It looks like a good crossover, and with a Far Cry 6 themed drink already made, it seems the game is definitely marketable.

This is not the first time that Ubisoft has used UNO to cross-promote its titles. Just Dance and Rabbids have both made appearances in UNO, and Immortals: Fenyx Rising also got its own DLC. Each new crossover included new mechanics specific to that expansion.

Although not nearly as large or as widely advertised as its AAA brethren, UNO is a moneymaker for Ubisoft. A favorite of streamers and casual play alike, it is beloved by all stripes, to the point where one player even made a playable UNO game in Minecraft.

Far Cry 6 is available now on Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
