DC unveiled a teaser of The Flash during FanDome 2021, giving fans a peek at both the film's story and Michael Keaton's return to the role of Batman.

October 16th proved to be a big day for the DC comics brand, as the company made a slew of announcements about DC film and televisions projects during DC FanDome 2021's online broadcast. And with many DC-inspired films being prepared for release in 2022 and beyond, the presence of multiple teaser trailers for those projects was almost a given for the broadcast. Luckily for diehard and casual DC Comics fans alike, DC unveiled a teaser of The Flash during the broadcast, giving fans a sneak peek at Ezra Miller's solo The Flash film as well as Michael Keaton's long-awaited return to his iconic Batman role.

DC has been trying to make a solo The Flash film for many years by this point in time. The film was originally slated for a 2018 release with Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the directors' chairs, with the film eventually being delayed to November 2022 after the lukewarm critical reception and underwhelming box office grosses of the 2017 theatrically-released cut of Justice League. Since then, DC films like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Joker have maintained goodwill and excitement for future DC adaptations among most moviegoers, with imminent releases like The Batman and Black Adam gearing up to continue the trend.

The teaser for The Flash showcases Ezra Miller's Barry Allen discovering an abandoned manor as well as traveling through different universes—a nod to the film's multiverse plot—all while Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne provides the teaser's voice-over monologue. The film also unveils a look at the film's stunning Batcave as well as a second version of Barry Allen and Sasha Calle's version of Supergirl.

The film is directed by It and It: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti, with a script provided by Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson. In addition to Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, and Sasha Calle, the film co-stars Ben Affleck, Kiersey Clemons, Temuera Morrison, and Ron Livingston (who replaced Billy Crudup as Barry Allen's father) among others. The teaser came alongside the release of many other teasers for DC film and television projects, among them a teaser of HBO MAX's Peacemaker series starring John Cena.

The teaser may have been brief, but it was certainly more than enough to cause excitement among fans, whether they're eager for The Flash's first solo feature film or if they're nostalgic to see Michael Keaton's Batman onscreen for the first time since 1992. Either way, The Flash's development from now until its release will be riveting to watch.

The Flash releases in theaters on November 4th, 2022.
