Ipe is one of the inhabitants of ancient Tsurumi. He is one of Genshin Impact NPC that players can see in the Through the Mists world quest. Just like his old self, his requests will revolve around fishing. Ipe's quest is pretty straightforward, but it might take several tries if players aren't lucky. Before starting this quest, travelers should craft some fishing baits, just in case.

Genshin Impact 2.2 releases the final island of Inazuma, Tsurumi. Tsurumi Island was once the home to the Thunderbird, a great beast of Inazuma. Eventually, she was killed by the Raiden Shogun in Seirai Island. The Electro Archon sealed the bird's power there, and Asase Shrine was built to suppress her power. However, Asase Hibiki releases the suppression later in history, causing Seirai Island to fall into ruins.

Ipe's Location In Genshin Impact

After players finish the Through the Mists world quests, Tsurumi Island will be cleansed from the fog forever. As a result, a fishing spot can be seen clearly near the Chirai Shrine Teleport Waypoint. To spawn Ipe, travelers need to catch any fish there. After the fish is caught, Ipe will appear and speak to the players.

Ipe confesses that he has lost Makiri's Charm while fishing. The charm is important to him as it contains blessings from Makiri's ancestors and the great Thunderbird. The spirit then asks travelers to help get it but doesn't say where because his memory is getting weaker.

How To Help Ipe Crossover

A quick tip is to speak with Ipe again after finishing the first conversation. Ipe will reveal that the charm is on a small island southwest of the Autake Plains, the one that faces three waterfalls.

On the map, players can see a small island with a Hilichurl hut on it. The fishing spot is south of the hut. Players might have to clear up the camp first so that they can fish in peace. After going to the designated spot, players won't see the fishing spot immediately. Instead, travelers need to use Peculiar Pinion on the Thunderbird statue.

After the fishing spot appears, players need to catch any fish in the pool. Travelers might need several tries to fish the Makiri's Charm out.

After obtaining the Makiri's Charm, report back to Ipe. The spirit will then cross over, and a Precious Chest will appear. The Precious Chest rewards 30 Primogems, 20000 Mora, and two Hero's Wits.

Based on what Ruu said in the third part of the Through the Mists questline, Ipe and Makiri seem to be in a relationship. The little boy says that big sister Makiri and big brother Ipe will get married. Alas, it's impossible to make this come true as the people of Tsurumi face a terrifying death in the Thunderbird's fury.
