The recent announcement of a next generation upgrade for The Witcher 3 has fans excited and reminiscing about both the game and series. Though this upgrade hasn't been released yet, The Witcher 3 community has already created a number of different tributes in anticipation. In one of these recent tributes, a player made an impressive time lapse walk through some of the more memorable sights in The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3’s open world is based on Slavonic mythology and features a number of interesting sites and fantastical beasts that players can run across. Released in 2015, The Witcher 3 is the latest game in The Witcher franchise. Time lapses such as this one require the players to record gameplay over a long time and across a number of different locations.

This time lapse was created by u/Aman690 and features a number of The Witcher 3’s memorable locations. Geralt walks across the map through 6 different places and the creator mentions where each shot took place. The time lapse begins with Geralt walking through an open field near the castle that plays host to Anna Henrietta. It then moves to two shots in Kaer Morhen, an old keep in the kingdom of Kaedwen. From here, Geralt ends up at a village in the northern kingdom of Skellige and Velen, a province situated in northern Temeria. This all ends in another beautiful shot near a windmill in White Orchard. Well, a beautiful shot until Geralt gets attacked.
This time lapse touches on some of the more beautiful locations in The Witcher 3 in a great way. It touches on the impressive design of the game, the variety of weather players experience, and the mix of bleak and beautiful that is The Witcher 3. Time lapses such as this are a great way to show off how a game’s world truly looks and u/Aman690 nailed it.
This tribute to The Witcher 3 does a great job showing off the game's mixture of environments from beautiful meadows to dark valley paths. U/Aman690 chose their locations quite well and matched the themes the game revolves around really well.
That being said, The Witcher 3 is known for hidden details and interesting sites and some fans would likely argue others places could have been swapped in. For example, the game hosts a number of different urban locations that might have greatly added to this tribute. But, regardless of feelings, this time lapse does a great job showing off some of the game's more memorable locations.
The Witcher 3 is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development for Q3/Q4 2021.
