This plant can be gathered for a side quest later on in Red Dead Redemption 2 and has a distinctive look to it. Despite this memorable design, however, it can be difficult to find exactly where it grows. For those players looking for every location they can harvest these plants, this guide is here to help.

Where to Find Lady Slipper Orchids North of Strawberry

There is just one region in which the Lady Slipper Orchid can be found in Red Dead Redemption 2: West Elizabeth. Fortunately, the places within this region where the orchid grows can be split into north of Strawberry or south. There are nine Lady Slipper Orchid plant locations to the north that players can find: two to the northeast, another pair directly north, and five to the northwest.

The two locations to the northeast of Strawberry are within the logging camp in West Elizabeth. Like all other flowers and plants in Red Dead Redemption 2, the best way to acquire these is to activate Eagle Eye. With this abilitiy activated, Lady Slipper Orchids will glow and create a small shimmering effect just like other plants. This pair is out in the open and likely the easiest to find, especially after the logging camp has moved out of the area.

The pair of directly northern locations brings players to rocky area and an enemy-filled compound. The easternmost of these is almost hidden underneath a boulder but should be visible for players coming from the south. The western of this pair is located within the Hanging Dog Ranch from the main storyline of Red Dead Redemption 2 that is occupied by enemy NPCs. The orchid is within a cattle corral just on the outskirts of the ranch.

Wolves, cougars, and various other wildlife are all over the area with the northwestern plant locations and players need to be careful when looking for these orchids. There are 5 locations in this area and the northern 3 of these are all within a short southern walk from the Pronghorn Ranch from the Epilogue of Red Dead Redemption 2. Eagle Eye will be especially key here as these orchids are surrounded by similarly colored plants.

The bottom two Lady Slipper Orchid locations are just off the trails nearby. Unfortunately, both are hidden in the woods and are surrounded by other plants as well. One of these is directly south of the letter "I" as part of the words "Big Valley" on the map, while the other is directly southwest of that plant.

Where to Find Lady Slipper Orchid South of Strawberry

The southern portion of Lady Slipper Orchid locations are all centered in the same general area. Within Tall Trees, alongside the path that cuts through the "A" and the "L" on the Red Dead Redemption 2 map, three separate orchids can be found. The fourth location is just a short walk south into the woods from these locations. It should be noted though that players need to be careful in this area as wolves are a common sight.

The final location in Tall Trees is at a terrible massacre site on the Aurora Basin. Though this area is known for its lovely scenery and is one of the better areas in Red Dead Redemption 2, this plant brings players to a horrifying sight. The plant is near the wagon that has been pillaged and damaged just on the shore of the pond. This is the final location for those players looking for the Lady Slipper Orchid.

What is the Lady Slipper Orchid for?

The Lady Slipper Orchid has a different purpose than other plants in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game describes this plant as one of high value and of interest to collectors in 'the nicer parts of town.' This means that this plant is actually an important ingredient in a quest that starts in Saint Denis.

This quest is called Duchesses and other Animals and it becomes available to players during Chapter 4 of the main storyline. There are six parts of this mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 and players will need to gather at least seven Lady Slipper Orchids as part of the third piece of it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
