DeNA's Pokemon Masters EX is newer than Niantic's AR mobile game Pokemon GO, but both have featured their fair share of Legendary Pokemon. N and Zekrom from Pokemon Black and White were the latest Legendary Sync Pair introduced to the island of Pasio in December, but today DeNA revealed the impending arrival of Pokemon X and Y's Xerneas and Yveltal.
The "Give and Take" Legendary Event was announced through an in-game message from the developers on January 14, teasing each of the Kalos region Legendaries would form Sync Pairs with "a Trainer who might be a little unexpected." New posts from the official Pokemon Masters Twitter account show Xerneas will pair up with Kalos' Professor Sycamore, whereas Yveltal will pair up with Team Flare boss Lysandre, the DS games' main antagonist.

Sycamore and the Fairy-type Xerneas will be free for players as part of completing the Legendary Event when it begins on February 10, but Lysandre and the Dark/Flying-type Yveltal will only be available through the gacha game's Sync Pair Scout; similar to N. The game is also re-running its "Lurking Shadow" Legendary Event, giving newer players the chance to team up with Team Rocket boss Giovanni and Mewtwo, the Psychic-type Legendary who recently celebrated its birthday.
In the January 14 message, Pokemon Masters said the "Give and Take" Legendary Event will coincide with the lead-up to its 1.5-year anniversary on February 25. Following the mobile game's recent "Team Hoenn Unite!" event and Valentine's Day celebration, its developers are planning for a number of updates leading into the two-year anniversary. This includes the conclusion of the game's first main story, as well as the addition of Dynamax Pokemon from Sword and Shield. The next developer update is planned for mid-February, so fans should look out for more details soon.
Pokemon Masters EX is available now on Android and iOS devices.
