Square Enix Says Marvel's Avengers Was Disappointing

The publisher does not believe Crystal Dynamics was a good fit, but still stands by the Games As a Service approach.

During Square Enix's 2021 Annual Report, president Yosuke Matsuda stated that the publisher was unhappy with how Marvel's Avengers turned out and that it was not as successful as the company "would have liked."
