The Netflix television show Squid Game went massively viral, introducing millions of viewers to its complicated system of playground games, character drama, and extreme violence. Video game players immediately recognized parallels between Squid Game and certain game genres like battle royales or party games like Fall Guys. Yet no game stood out as directly comparable to Squid Game, which is how Crab Game came into being. In its rush to launch, however, it had some nasty issues that the developer is just getting around to fixing.
