Warner Bros Interactive is advertising a series of jobs for what seems to be a free-to-play AAA title, which would be interesting to see.

No matter how much studios and publishers try, they can't keep rumors under wraps forever. There are always ways that fans will be able to decipher that something is on the horizon, and one way to do this is to keep an eye out for new jobs within the industry. Recently, Microsoft started hiring for an unannounced Halo project, and now it looks as though Warner Brothers is going on its own hiring spree.

A recent look at some of the recent postings available on the Warner Brothers website reveals ten new jobs have gone live as of yesterday. It appears the company is looking to hire specifically for its San Diego, California outlet, with all positions showing as full time. This suggests a new gaming project from Warner Bros. is likely being discussed or in its earliest stages, and while there are no details about what the project will be as of now, evidence suggests it will be a AAA game that's free-to-play.

The post for the game systems designer stresses that WB Games is currently on the lookout for someone to help design a new game that is not only triple-A and free-to-play, but is also cross-platform as well, which is likely to stir up some intrigue in the community. This is evidenced in the senior platform engineer role, which specifically requests a potential candidate with experience developing for Xbox One, PS4 and/or the Nintendo Switch. Now, as to what this free-to-play AAA game is anyone's guess.

Typically, AAA + free-to-play + cross-platform would be indicative of a larger shooter, battle royale-style games. There's not enough to go on here to fully suggest that, but given the company's tendency to produce single-player or fighting game experiences, it does sound like it's on the outside of the typical Warner Bros. umbrella.

Some of these jobs also request knowledge of the Unreal 4 engine, which is arguably the de facto engine for top developers to use for creating mainstream titles (though many indie developers use it as well). Despite the range of this engine, it's also a strong contestant for a FPS game, and so it does all add up, even if nothing can be nailed down specifically. Ultimately, with a host of management, engineering, production, art, and design roles currently being advertised, gamers can only speculate what Warner Brothers is up to. Given that this is more than likely a project that's not even in development yet, there's every chance that it could be a while before the studio announces anything official.

As of last year, Warner Brothers is working on a series of upcoming games, such as an adaptation of Suicide Squad and plenty more. Speculations may lean towards something out there like a battle royale game or something safer like more DC content or Lego games, but all gamers can do is wait for word to come straight from the studio's mouth.
