Nintendo's mobile gacha game Fire Emblem Heroes unveils four new characters from one of the older titles released forvthe Super Famicom.

February is the month that Nintendo’s mobile gacha game Fire Emblem Heroes is celebrating its anniversary. With four years already under its belt, the development team has prepared a slew of FEH anniversary activities to celebrate the milestone. And just recently, a new banner event has been revealed to announce the arrival of four new heroes from one of the oldest installments in the series.

The latest summoning banner does not come as a surprise. Nintendo has been consistent in its efforts to entice Fire Emblem Heroes players to stay active in the game with continuous activities and updates, even having fans decide on upcoming heroes through its popular Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legend events. With the franchise spanning through several gaming decades, having heroes from the older installments will not only invite past fans, but also introduce them to the game’s new players.

In a recent YouTube video, Fire Emblem Heroes revealed that it is bringing in four new characters from Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War. Announced just after the implementation of the FEH 5.2.0 update, the summoning event is called New Heroes: Enduring Legacy, and the gacha characters include Knight-Defender Annand, Youthful Flame Azelle, Young Blade Lex, and Earnest Knight Erinys.

The Fire Emblem Heroes summoning banner event will be live from February 15, 2021, 11:00 PM PT, while a new Grand Hero Battle featuring another Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War hero, Díthorba, will start February 16, 2021, 11:00 PM PT. A new story chapter called “The Vital Blade” will also be added into the game.

With Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War being released only in Japan in 1996 for the Super Famicom, new fans are likely not as familiar with the upcoming heroes, compared to the most recent ones like the Mythic Hero Saint Seiros. However, players may find them interesting when building their in-game parties as the uploaded video featured some of the heroes’ unique and useful skills.

Fire Emblem Heroes is currently available on iOS and Android devices.
