Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki are two of the most important characters in Naruto's sequel, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Just as Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha paralleled each other, Boruto and Kawaki seem to do the same and like the main characters of the original Naruto series, they're the two most crucial characters for the plot to move forward. Although fans knew Boruto Uzumaki from the very beginning of the story, Kawaki was added to the story much later, after the Ao arc. Since then, he has managed to quickly establish himself as one of the best characters in Boruto.
