When the news of Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard first hit the wires, there was quite a bit of focus on the financials of the deal. There was also plenty of talk about the controversies that have surrounded the Call of Duty and World of Warcraft publisher for the last few years. One of the things that hasn't been talked about is the very real impact this acquisition could have on the IPs changing hands. One title that could benefit from the deal is Overwatch 2. The game has evidently been in some version of development hell. Now that Microsoft is taking over ABK, it feels like Overwatch 2 fans might finally have some hope that the game will eventually be released.
