The latest exotic quest arrived in Destiny 2 this week, with the final reward being the kinetic scout rifle Dead Man’s Tale. The full quest to get the rifle is relatively short and simple but involves a secret mission much like the Harbinger mission for Hawkmoon from last season, which can still be completed in the new Season of the Chosen.
These exotic secret missions in Destiny 2 are never easy and Presage is no exception because of a tricky platforming section right at the very start. The section is not very long, and once players have traversed it, they will be inside the Cabal ship where combat will form most of the remainder of the mission. For those players wanting to go for the solo flawless completion triumph, perfecting this little platforming section will be imperative to your success.

Once players have gained access to the secret mission “Presage," they can load into the adrift Cabal ship by selecting the mission node on the Tangled Shore map. Before getting started, players should make sure they come equipped with any movement-based exotics for their class of choice. Transversive Steps for Warlocks, Lion Rampant for Titans, and St0mp-EE5 for Hunters, coupled with mobility-boosting mods will help players nail this platforming section.
A sword can also help with mid-jump course corrections in a pinch if these exotics are unavailable. Floating boxes and crates will also be partially obstructing the path. These can be moved out the way by running into them or by shooting them until they float out of the path.
As soon as players spawn on the ship, they should immediately do a 90-degree left turn. Just off the loading ramp of the ship, there will be a thick red pipe running almost horizontally along the ship. Jump onto the pipe and run along it and cross the gap onto the next red pipe until you reach the end.
The next ledge will be right in front of the player, with two small red lights on it. To get to it, players will need to jump and turn to the right to land on the ledge.
Now run to the end of this ledge and there should be a large platform in front of and slightly higher than the player. Simply jump up to the platform, turn right, and look down the length of the Cabal ship.
There will be another ledge on the wall of the ship with two more red lights on it. The ledge is quite far but still easy to get to. Jump to this ledge and then jump to another platform that is in front of and slightly higher than the player. This is quite a small platform, so players should make sure they do not overshoot the jump.
This next little section focuses more on climbing higher, rather than crossing large gaps. Players should turn 180-degrees and look up slightly to see several platforms with red lights on. Jump up to the closest one, and then jump onto the next platform.
Do another 180-degree turn and players will notice a couple of metal pipes running horizontally in front of them. There is a small platform at the end of those pipes which players should jump onto, and then jump onto the large platform that is being held up by several large metal arms. These metal arms can be quite obstructive, so players need to make sure they do not bounce off them or fail to mantle onto the platform and fall into the void of space below.
The final jump is up next and is the trickiest jump in this section. Looking down the ship, players will notice a small ledge on the wall of the ship that is quite far away. On that ledge is a small opening that leads to a shaft. The size of this opening makes landing on the ledge difficult as it is easy to fail to mantle onto the ledge or just miss the opening due to the ship's walls.
Using a sword light attack to quickly dash onto the ledge is useful but not essential. Players should move the edge of the platform they are standing on and use their jump ability late to ensure they get plenty of distance and just enough height to reach the ledge. Once players have crossed the gap and landed on the ledge, they will be led into a narrow shaft lit up with red lights. This is now the ship’s interior and players can carry on with the rest of the mission.
Upon completion of the Presage mission, players will be awarded the latest exotic weapon in Destiny 2, the Dead Man’s Tale kinetic scout rifle which they can use throughout the new activities in Season of the Chosen. It's likely that throughout 2021 and into the upcoming Witch Queen expansion, Bungie will be introducing more of these exotic quest missions for players to explore.
If you are still yet to complete last season's Harbinger secret mission for the exotic hand cannon, Hawkmoon, you can still do it even in Season of the Chosen. The Harbinger mission also rewards players will randomly rolled perks on Hawkmoon and its exotic catalyst.
