Nintendo's first Direct of 2022 brought a lot of games to the forefront of people’s minds. Even though Mario Kart 9 rumors might not have panned out, the Nintendo Direct still brought classic Nintendo titles back into the spotlight. Both Mario Strikers: Battle League and Nintendo Switch Sports were shown off, with release dates set for the first half of this year. This brings back two series that were able to thrive on the Wii, updating their concepts for the Nintendo Switch, a console that matches the Wii's party and group play aspects well.
