Early Access for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord continues to progress with routine updates from developer TaleWorlds Entertainment. To that end, TaleWorlds is also producing lengthy update videos that go in-depth regarding recent changes to Mount and Blade 2, as well as upcoming additions. The latest developer update introduces features including multiplayer Duel Mode, a new battle terrain selection system, and more.
Understandably, the new multiplayer Duel Mode receives TaleWorlds' focus in the trailer. As shown in the new gameplay footage, players will be able to join a server where they'd be able to challenge other players to duels. Depending on the classes of these players, they'd be matched into different dueling arenas in a race to be the first to claim three victories. A Duel Mode server would also keep a leaderboard, showing which players are the strongest.

The new automated battle terrain selection system is an expansion of what's currently available in-game. Currently, when a battle begins in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, it chooses a random map based on the type of terrain the player is standing. The new system picks a map based on the specific area a player is standing on. That means each map will more directly represent the area a player is in, even positioning the player and their opponent on the map as if they are in the overworld.
Additionally, TaleWorlds is working on six new siege maps featuring castles and cities, new Battanian helmets, an improved death camera and kill feed, as well as a Sandbox game mode with no story elements. All announced features are currently in development and have no firm release date, so expect more news in the weeks and months to come.
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is available in Early Access now on PC.
