The latest Nintendo Direct came with all kinds of surprises, and many of them were very welcome ones. Aside from Chrono Cross' remaster and the return of Mario Strikers, Nintendo officially announced Nintendo Switch Sports, a new multiplayer game that's meant to capture the magic of the Wii's beloved Wii Sports series. Considering how long it has been since the halcyon days of Wii Sports, there wasn't much reason to believe that Nintendo Switch Sports would happen, but it made itself known nevertheless. Although the game seems to largely swap out Miis for a new style of avatar, it looks like a nostalgic successor to the Wii Sports franchise so far.
