Star Wars is a franchise built on characters. As unique and interesting as it is to see lightsabers, space battles, and more, the characters have always been the heart of the story, right from A New Hope. Luke is a character with a genuinely emotional arc in the first film, and it’s abundantly clear in that movie and the rest of the franchise that characters are above anything else.
